Hello! My name is Alan Peral and I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I am interested in data visualization, human computation, crowdsourcing and collaboration, games with a purpose, and things that fall within the vast realm of "tech for good." When I'm not working or doing my homework, I can be found playing soccer or video games, getting involved in community activties (volunteer and otherwise), dancing, or walking my
dog. I also like reading some good sci-fi books, historical non-fiction, and powerful, poignant essays.
